Informationandcommunicationtechnologyhasbeenprovidingamoreeffectivelynetworkinfrastructureanddevelopmentplatformforthelogisticsandserviceoperations.Inordertomeettheneedsofconsumers,andparticularlypromotelow-carboneconomicdevelopmentprocess,newtypesofservicesalsowillemerge.LISS2011isaprimeinternationalforumforbothresearchersandindustrypractitionerstoexchangethelatestfundamentaladvancesinthestateoftheartandpracticeoflogistics,informatics,serviceoperationsandservicescience.Relateddomainexpertsandscholarswilldiscussacademicissues,seizefuturedevelopmentopportunities,masterthesubjectdevelopingtendencyandexchangethelatestresearchandacademicthinking.ThethemeoftheconferenceisLogisticsandServiceSciencebasedontheInternetofthings.
LISS2011willbeco-locatedwiththeICEIS2011,whichissponsoredbyINSTICC(InstituteofSystemsandTechnologiesofInformation,ControlandCommunication,Portugal).INSTICCisoneofitsinfluentialinternationalacademicconferenceseriesintheworld,anditisco-organizedbytheSchoolofEconomicsandManagement,BeijingJiaotongUniversity,UniversityofReading,UK,PennsylvaniaStateUniversityandotheruniversities.TheMeetingwillbeheldinBeijing.
